Founder

Dr Ramya Ravindran, our founder is a prolific cornea and cataract surgeon. Trained at some of the top institutes of ophthalmology and cornea she is equipped with both the knowledge and cutting-edge technology to provide her patients with top quality care that they deserve.

Dr Ravindran is a native of Chennai and has done her initial medical training from the prestigious Ramachandra Medical College. Following her Ophthalmic training she did her long-term Research Cum Clinical Cornea Fellowship at Sankara Nethralaya, the Temple of the Eye where she honed her skills and clinical acumen under expert guidance from her mentors.

She has since developed into a complete Corneal Surgeon with a further specialized training in DMEK at the prestigious NIIOS Netherlands and training in Refractive Surgery at Narayana Nethralaya Bengaluru.

She has a vast experience with complex corneal and anterior segment Cases and is specially interested in Lamellar Corneal Transplants, Ocular Surface Disorders and Refractive Cataract Surgery.

In 2020, she was awarded the prestigious ‘International ophthalmologist education award from the American academy of ophthalmology.

Ravindranath Centre for Advanced Eye Care is the culmination of Dr Ramya’s Father’s dream for her. It’s a small tribute to his legacy and she is fully committed to helping her patients in every way she can.
